DBSA wants to help you start a face-to-face peer support group in your community. The first step in starting your support group is to request a free copy of the DBSA start-up materials at www.DBSAlliance.org/sugrequest. No special training is required to lead a DBSA group. All you need is a desire to give back, a commitment to helping your peers toward wellness, and the sense that recovery is possible! Web Intern PositionTuesday, March 03, 2009 - Monday, March 01, 2010As the Web Intern, you will implement dedicated project work on DBSAâ??s existing platform, while working closely with the DBSA Webmaster to enhance web site traffic and engage clinicians and DBSAâ??s existing constituency. You will incorporate new technologies and implement resources and components related directly to the programâ??s scope in order to meet and exceed program goals while delivering content in an organized, structured and easily navigated manner. This volunteer intern position offers a wealth of opportunities to apply your skills and education in many real-time online web environments. You will be working on enhancing current projects, as well as day web design while building skills such and project management, learning new software applications and collaborating with web vendors and IT partners. This unpaid Web Internship position will be for approximately 20-30 hours per week for a term of 12 weeks. The Web Intern will have a diverse collection of resume and portfolio pieces upon successful completion of the internship. Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess 2 years IT or related educational experience and 2 years of HTML knowledge, proficiency with both hard-coded HTML and designing with Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft FrontPage or other HTML editor preferred. JavaScript and other computer scripting languages (Flash, XML) preferred. This motivated team player will also possess superior computer skills along with the following knowledge and skills: â?¢ Knowledge of modern principles, practices and methods of web design, implementation and maintenance â?¢ Strong technological web based skills â?¢ Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment â?¢ Healthy self-esteem, an open-minded attitude and ability to exhibit patience and flexibility â?¢ Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure required â?¢ Personal experience with depression or bipolar disorder preferred
