The purpose of the St. Joseph's Hospitals Foundation is to preserve the tradition of excellent, advanced and compassionate care for which the four St. Joseph's Hospitals are so well known. St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Joseph's Women's Hospital, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital-North all benefit from the generosity of donors who make gifts to the Foundation. %newline% %newline%For 75 years, Tampa Bay patients of all ages and backgrounds have turned to St. Joseph's Hospitals for consistently outstanding care. Because the hospitals are nonprofit organizations, they rely on donors to sustain high quality care and the latest medical advances available. %newline% %newline%Donors have truly made a difference in the lives of thousands of St. Joseph's patients. The Foundation plays an important role by serving as the bridge between these donors and the hospitals. %newline% %newline%Voluntary financial support for the St. Joseph's Hospitals is especially meaningful in light of the roots and traditions of the organization. The hospitals were established in 1934 by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany who came to Tampa to aid the victims of an outbreak of yellow fever. %newline% %newline%The hospitals came into being because of the compassion of a few dedicated individuals responding to the health needs of a community.
